Why is the Chef Pierre® brand now offering Breakfast Bakery items?

Due to a legal divestiture to Bimbo Bakeries USA, Tyson Food Service has lost the rights to the Sara Lee® brand in all Breakfast Bakery categories, except Cinnamon Rolls. In order to continue to offer the same former Sara Lee® branded products, we have simply changed the product brand name.

Tyson Food Service will continue to offer Cinnamon Rolls under the Sara Lee® brand name. The Cinnamon Roll formula has not changed

Since 1922, the Chef Pierre® brand has been known for consistency and quality as the category leader in restaurant-quality foodservice pies. Now, patrons are sure to love our authentic Breakfast Bakery favorites crafted with the same care. Most operators surveyed feel the Chef Pierre® brand would do a good job making bakery items, in addition to pie*.

Are any of the product formulas changing?

Yes. Our five top selling bulk muffin flavors have been renovated to offer more artisanal appeal and delicious taste. Flavors include: Blueberry, Bran, Banana Nut, Cheese Streusel and Double Chocolate Chunk.

These muffins feature made-from-scratch appeal, gourmet toppings and ingredients like buttery streusel, whole wild blueberries, 100% semisweet chocolate chunks, real fruit purée, real cream cheese and more.

Yes. With the exception of these top 5 newly crafted bulk muffin flavors:

All other Breakfast Bakery product formulations will remain the same.

Why have the bulk muffin SKUs changed in size?

We have streamlined all muffin sizes in the Chef Pierre® portfolio to better align with consumer and trending preferences. The weight of our IW muffins will remain the same at 4 and 2 ounces, but our 4.25 oz. large bulk muffins have changed to 4 oz. and our 2.125 oz. small bulk muffins have changed to 2 oz.

Why has the muffin liner changed?

With the exception of products in tulip cup liners, all muffin liners have changed to offer more upscale, artisan appeal. Our new liners feature a dark brown paper with gold design and scalloped edges making them stand out when on display.

When did the change occur in the marketplace?

The Chef Pierre® brand began offering Breakfast Bakery favorites beginning in February 2016.

Does Chef Pierre® Breakfast Bakery contain artificial sweeteners?


Does Chef Pierre® Breakfast Bakery contain Partially Hydrogenated Oils?

We have removed Partially Hydrogenated Oils from the majority of our breakfast bakery SKUs in a deliberate effort to continue to make our products delicious, yet more wholesome. ALL Partially Hydrogenated Oils will be removed from all Breakfast Bakery SKUs by October 2016.

Will I continue to get my product orders at the same rate?

Yes. Order fulfillment time will remain the same.

Will the manufacturing facilities, practices and production change?


Will the prices change?

No the price will not change. However, we will continue to conduct quarterly pricing review as we have historically.

Will the SKU and GTIN numbers change?


Will the structural packaging and shipper cases change?

No. Only the logo will change.
